Since I've been living in New Zealand, Milford Sound has been one of those places that everyone tells me I have to see. Quite a few people have told me it's their favorite place in New Zealand. For nearly a year, I've been trying to get to this magical place hidden in the south west of New Zealand's South Island Fjord land.
Happy Sunday! Today I challenge you to do something new in your own 'backyard' and go some place you haven't been before.
Before we left Roturua, we made a final stop at the Buried Village. The Buried Village was established by a European Christian missionary in the 1840s and was a model village where both Maori and European settlers lived. In 1866, Mt. Tarawera erupted burying the village and more than 150 people in its mud and ash. The eruption also took with it, the eighth wonder of the world: The Pink and White Terraces.
What better way to start off the year than with a little adventure? This year I’d really like to try to go with the flow a bit more. Taking an impromptu road trip was my first 2014 attempt at just going with the flow.
